Reiki can create well-being, inner harmony and balance and regular reiki sessions promote a calmer response to life’s challenges. Reiki’s gentle energy is suitable for people of all ages, from new-born babies to the frail, elderly and those passing over. Reiki is suitable for all conditions, promoting emotional, physical and spiritual balance because of the nature of the energy it works on every level. Reiki is used widely as a complimentary therapy as well as a stand-alone treatment for relaxation time just for you. In the hospital setting, Reiki is presented as a technique which reduces stress and promotes relaxation, thereby enhancing the body’s natural healing ability.
All reiki treatments are relaxing and rejuvenating, allowing your 5 senses to quieten and your body consciousness to promote natural self-healing. This is why I use the term Natural Reiki. The treatment will introduce you to a mind body connection, allowing you to sense energy in your body which you usually are unaware of.
The origin of Reiki treatment is thought to have derived from Tibetan Buddhism and is thousands of years old. It was rediscovered in the 19th century from Sanskrit writings by Dr Mikao Usui (1862-1926), a Japanese scholar who developed the Usui System of Natural Healing. Hawayo Takata brought Reiki to the West around 1970 and subsequently it became internationally recognised as an aid to accelerating healing using natural healing and harmonising energy.
